The Grantham Institute

The Grantham Institute is Imperial College London's hub for climate change and the environment, and one of Imperial's seven Global Institutes. We promote interdisciplinary work to address society's greatest challenges. Our work includes advancing scientific discovery, translating innovations into practical applications, training future leaders, and sharing academic knowledge with businesses, industry, and policymakers to inform their decisions.

The climate change and environmental science sector offers diverse career pathways. Our Year 12 Work Experience programme gives participants insight into expert teams working across policy, research, communications, outreach, and innovation. Participants spend most of their time at the Institute, learning from our staff and students while engaging in group activities and visits. While the programme content varies yearly, past participants have taken part in Climate Fresk workshops and toured the Natural History Museum and Carbon Capture Lab.
