Short Course SPOC
Climate change is unique in its complexity, scale and threat and will affect everyone. Each of us can play a role in finding solutions to these challenges.
This new online course will delve into the science behind climate change, strategies for mitigation and adaptation, the reliability of climate change information, how climate change intersects with broader sustainability issues and Imperial's ecological impact.
Learners will engage with recorded media, interactive activities, quizzes and community reflections to assess understanding.

Learning outcomes
Students who have successfully completed the course should be able to:
- Explain why climate change is happening
- Analyse the ways in which society needs to adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change for the future
- Explain how adaptation and mitigation strategies relate to wider sustainability challenges
- Evaluate the reliability of climate change information and differentiate good science from politically -biased claims
- Become climate-aware members of Imperial College London and wider society
- Make balanced, informed and climate-conscious decisions to your daily life, study and future career.
There will be no formal assessment in this course. However, learners will be asked to complete activities to test their knowledge and understanding.
