AB - A systematic investigation of the magnetic, electrical resistivity, and magnetoresistance (MR) properties has been performed on glassy compound (Dy0.6Gd0.4)5Pd2. The magnetic measurement data confirm the presence of double-glass transition nature of this compound. Electrical resistivity exhibits metallic behaviour above 170 K (to 300 K). However, resistivity increases rapidly with a decrease in temperature below 170 K for (Dy0.6Gd0.4)5Pd2 compound revealing a non-metallic behaviour due to the presence of an inhomogeneous electronic state at a low-temperature regime. The isothermal magnetoresistance curves exhibit a negative effect down to −5% (while no effect can be observed at 100 K in the paramagnetic state). A spatially complex inhomogeneous state (atomic disorder, magnetic frustration) is responsible for negative magnetoresistance.
