The information on these pages is for staff in the Business School and School of Public Health who are involved with trialing the new Overseas Working service.

Staff from all other areas of the university should follow the guidance on the HR Overseas Working webpage.

We are improving how staff at Imperial are supported to work safely overseas.

Staff in the Business School and School of Public Health who are taking part in this pilot should now make all overseas working requests using the process guidance on these webpages.

You should submit an overseas working request if you plan to work overseas as soon as you start to plan your trip. More on when you submit an Overseas Working Request.

We are rolling out this enhanced service to ensure our staff's safety and legal compliance when working overseas, whilst offering support and insight. We anticipate that this improved service will be extended to all staff across Imperial in early 2025.

The International Mobility Team are here to provide you with advice and guidance about your overseas working plans, potential risks or liabilities that you may incur, and to answer any questions that you have about this new process.

The final decision on whether overseas working can take place by a staff member sits with their named department’s Final Approver - see list of Final Approvers for Overseas Working.
