The Vaccine Student Research Network brings together all students across the College working in the fields relevant to vaccines at Imperial College London. This network provides a forum for networking, collaboration, and community-building, as well as enabling cross-disciplinary learning, perspectives enrichment in addition to personal and professional development.

The truly innovative and interdisciplinary nature of vaccine research often means that students are spread across different research groups, departments, and faculties within Imperial College London. The Student Vaccine Research Network recognises the benefits of multi-disciplinary learning and approaches to address the challenges of vaccine-related research. Through bringing together students with various areas of expertise, outside the traditional academic setting, the networks’ objective is to form a vibrant and diverse student community which promotes an enriched and authentic research experience. Network members can share ideas, solutions, research findings, and knowledge beyond their area of specialisation, thus fostering cross-pollination of learning.

Our interdisciplinary Vaccine Student Research Network welcomes all students to take part in a multitude of events, activities, and opportunities throughout the academic year. The network’s staple event is the annual student conference as well as seminars, skills tutorials, hackathons, career support specific to vaccine-related domains and social events. These network activities serve as a platform for students to create connections with academics within and outside of Imperial College, as well as external partners, ensuring multiple opportunities for networking.

The Vaccine Student Research Network is led by students within the College, with each faculty being represented by a network manager representative. Thanks to this college-wide student representation, the network can cater to unique needs and challenges across different faculties making the network more inclusive and supportive. The network is inspired by the equivalent staff network (Imperial Network for Vaccine Research).
