Abstract: In this talk, we will briefly introduce the well-known alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) algorithm and discuss its applications in distributed learning including the federated learning, few-shot learning, and deep learning.

Short Bio: Zhou Shenglong is a professor with the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Beijing Jiaotong University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Southampton, where he also served as a Research Fellow and Lecturer from 2017 to 2021. He joined Imperial College London as a Research Fellow from 2021 to 2023. His research focuses on optimization theory and methods, with applications in machine learning, data analysis, and signal processing.
