- Imperial Cohesion - Creating a Neuroinclusive Workplace and why it matters
- Inclusive Staff Recruitment Showcase: Strategies for a Diverse Workforce
- Materials Tea and Biscuits
- Stress Awareness Day/Stress Management Workshop
Wednesday 13 November 2024, 14:00 - 15:00
Online event
The Imperial Cohesion event will focused on neurodiversity (ND) awareness, support and declaration. It is estimated that between 15% - 20% of people in the UK are neurodivergent, and although declaration rates for staff at Imperial are much lower than this, it is likely that a lack of understanding and appreciation underpins much of the misunderstandings in our communication within our work environment. Please join us for this event, including presentations by Kani Kamara, the head of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Centre (EDIC) who will highlight the support and awareness guidance offered by the EDIC team, Professor Sara Rankin who will describe the value of cognitive diversity recognised within the commercial tech world, and members of the ABLE, the staff network who empower staff with disability in the workplace. There will also be time for Q&A from all participants.
Wednesday 11 December, 14:00 - 16:30
In-person event
ICBS 200 - LT2, Level 2 Business School
Our people are at the center of our strategy and define our culture. Join us for an afternoon of discussion and learning about inclusive staff recruitment at Imperial. Building on the success of the last event in 2022, this event, hosted by the Assistant Provosts for EDI, is designed for all staff involved in recruitment processes.
Key Topics:
- Recruitment at Imperial: Hear from the Assistant Provosts for EDI about the progress Imperial has made on its journey to being a truly inclusive employer. Learn from the Deputy Director of HR (HR Operations) about current recruitment practices and the launch of new inclusive resources.
- Case Studies: Learn from real-world examples of successful inclusive recruitment strategies.
- Panel Discussion: Engage in a Q&A session
- Facilitated Group Discussions: Share insights and challenges related to overcoming barriers to inclusive recruitment.

Life can be fast-paced and busy, meaning it is often difficult to carve out time to look after your wellbeing. Restful moments throughout the day are important for our body to slow down, recharge and become more resilient over time. We are running a practical workshop which will involve some light movement but will focus predominantly on lifestyle changes we can make to allow ourselves moments of rest throughout the day.
