MSc Mathematics & Finance: Entry requirements

We normally ask for a minimum of a high 2.1 degree in mathematics or a good First Class degree in a physical science with a strong mathematical content, i.e. several modules of mathematics with an emphasis on analysis, probability, statistics and differential equations. We expect the equivalent standard for an international qualification. If you are unsure whether your non-UK qualification meets the entry requirement, contact ns.admissions@imperial.ac.uk

Relevant work experience will be taken into consideration, but is not a substitute for the minimum entry requirement.

All applicants are required to apply online and to include an original transcript of their undergraduate degree and/or relevant mathematical studies, at least one of which should be academic even if you are no longer studying. For current undergraduates, two academic references are perfectly acceptable. If you have an enquiry about any technical aspect of your on-line application, please contact: registry.systems@imperial.ac.uk or 020 7594 8020.

We cannot comment on the eligibility of applicants without seeing a full application form along with references and transcripts. However, we can advise that, in most cases, a degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business or Management will not meet our entry requirements.

The English language requirements for applicants to this course can be found here.

There is no GMAT requirement.

Applicants are strongly advised to apply before 1 May each year. Successful applicants must be able to meet all conditions of their offer, including the language requirement, before the course begins.
