The SHARP project is a school outreach programme working in partnership with young people to increase understanding of the impact of knife violence on individuals and communities. The SHARP project consists of a full day workshop to school students aged 11 - 14 years old. Students witness a simulation, both through virtual reality and live performance, of a young man who has suffered an abdominal stabbing injury and follows his subsequent journey through the emergency system, operating theatre and hospital journey. Students then participate in several arts-based activities to elicit emotional responses to what they have witnessed.

SHARP was developed by the Imperial College Centre of Engagement and Simulation Science, and led in collaboration with the Youth Endowment Fund, the Change Foundation and the Prince's Trust and has now reached over 300 students in 11 schools across London.
