Advanced medical imaging enables us to view organ anatomy, molecular targets and biochemical processes in intricate detail, non-invasively in patients and healthy people, helping us predict, monitor and treat diseases effectively, ultimately improving people’s quality of life.

Aims

In addition to development of conventional imaging methods, our research also enables us to develop molecular imaging agents – combining an understanding of molecular biology with in vivo imaging pre-clinically and in patients - and provides visualisation of cellular function in living organisms without perturbing them, including applications in positron emission tomography (PET), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound (US). Furthermore, we aim to combine imaging with molecular pathology to provide a continuum of platforms linking more detailed features of cells (genotype, epigenome, and phenotype) with whole organ/body imaging of tumour biology and pharmacology.
