Morgan Thomas - MRes Cancer Biology
What did you most enjoy about your course?
I have always found that I learnt the most during practical lab experience, and so the research project really suited my learning style. During the project, I was immersed in cutting-edge research and enjoyed the freedom of taking the projects in the direction I wanted, with the guidance of extremely talented group leaders.
What did you most appreciate about the Faculty/College?
The standard of the taught component was high, delivered through multiple teaching techniques and from experts in the field. But I most appreciated the other students, there was a real sense of camaraderie and a diverse range of backgrounds. I've made friends for life as part of this course.
How did it feel to receive the Dean's Prize?
Surprising. The course was full of intelligent and able people, it's a real confidence boost given the calibre of the other students.
What are you doing now/What do you plan on doing after graduation?
Currently I'm taking a break, hoping to get some travelling in before I pursue a PhD. I'd ideally like to get involved with machine learning applications in cancer research and healthcare.
