MRes in Clinical Research (Diabetes and Obesity)

What attracted you to that course?

I greatly enjoyed my undergraduate research experiences and Endocrinology has always been a fascinating medical specialty to me. This MRes offers an exciting opportunity for students new to clinical research to delve into a wide selection of projects.

What specific aspects of the teaching or course format did you enjoy the most?

There were ample opportunities for us to engage in discussions regarding complex topics to deepen our understanding of the subject. The programme coordinators were also patient and catered to everyone's learning needs. The course was well-organised with a good mix of lectures, clinical exposure, and laboratory work. I also loved meeting classmates who were passionate about clinical research.

How do you think the course will impact your future career?

Being involved in clinical trials enabled me to develop essential skills in healthcare research. I've practiced clinical skills, conducted data analysis, processed biological samples, and developed critical skills to evaluate scientific literature. Learning about research procedures and ethics will allow me to conduct future studies in a safe and efficient manner. I also feel more confident interacting with both patients and medical staff.
