ICCESS' work feeds in to clinical education-focused academic programmes at Imperial College London.
MEd Surgical Education
The MEd and PG Diploma in Surgical Education programme is overseen by Prof Roger Kneebone and Kirsten Dalrymple and explores emerging directions in surgical education, including public engagement, simulation and work at the boundaries between medicine, science and the humanities.
Ideas and practices emerging from ICCESS led projects have fed into the MEd in Surgical Education both in terms of providing its students with research foci and expert led supervision for dissertation projects and in stimulating innovative teaching and learning approaches. ICCESS has provided students with opportunities to participate in the development and implementation of public engagement initiatives at venues such as the Science Museum, Wellcome Collection, Royal Institution and at a number of festivals across the country. Their expertise as clinicians and developing educators has, in turn, enriched the quality of engagement with various publics around healthcare.

MSc Surgical Innovation
Dr Fernando Bello is Academic Co-director of the MSc, PG Dip and PG Cert in Surgical Innovation. The aim of the programme is to provide a solid academic foundation on both clinical and non-clinical topics relevant to modern surgical trainees, as well as other members of the multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on how surgery has changed and will continue to advance in the next decade and beyond.
All four research themes at ICCESS contribute towards the MSc in Surgical Innovation with students able to interact with ICCESS researchers, undertake research projects in these areas and particpate in studies, engagement activities and seminars. The MSc also provides a vibrant forum for discussion of ICCESS-related initiatives such as the St Mary's Patient Experience Hub.

Undergraduate and postgraduate project supervision
Students undertaking courses within other faculties across Imperial College sometimes join ICCESS to undertake projects which contribute to their own programme of study and to the work of the Centre.
