Our primary focus is on involving patients, their carers and families in patient safety and in research on patient safety. We are working in acute and elective hospital services, with older adults, and increasingly with mental health service users. Our research explores different approaches to involvement, and we have identified a number of factors that make this more or less likely to happen. We are currently exploring the differing perceptions of patients and healthcare professionals for patient safety.
