PFDC logoCATO works with the Imperial College PFDC to develop and implement a support programme for PostDoctoral clinical academics and final year clinical PhD fellows. The PDFC offers an extensive programme of professional skills and career development training, support and opportunities, to enable all Imperial College London postdocs and fellows to succeed in their current position while planning their next step.

 The PFDC programme includes:

  • Welcome/Induction and cohort building sessions designed to help new staff settle into their new roles
  • Training sessions - such as Preparing successful fellowship applications, Persuasive communication and various funder showcases
  • Writing retreats –providing dedicated time and space to write
  • Individual support – one-to-one meetings on issues that that you would like to discuss, eg discuss your CV, job searching, fellowship applications (including review of draft applications), lectureship positions, moving out of academia, issues related to working in your lab/team
  • Mock interview service - the PFDC arranges mock interviews for fellows and clinicians who have been shortlisted for fellowships, academic positions and positions outside of higher education. They organise rooms, coordinate and chair the panels, choose appropriate questions and provide feedback to the interviewee
