Procedure
All proposals in the Department (whether by departmental recommendation or self-application) will be considered by a Department Panel with input from a Pro Consul.
Please refer to the Academic Promotions webpages for all information relating to the process, forms and criteria, and ensure you are familiar with all the Appendices and Guidance Notes.
Staff may wish to discuss the process informally with their Line Manager, Head of Division or Head of Department, who can provide informal guidance and advice.
Expert Academic Panel
The Expert Academic Panel’s role is to provide support and guidance to applicants either in the form of advising on their application form, and/or sitting on mock interview panels. They are available to support candidates throughout the process on an informal basis in addition to the support they receive from their line manager. Previous applicants have found this an invaluable resource to be able to tap into at any point during the promotion process.
The Department has tried to ensure a balance between roles, and areas of expertise to ensure maximum support for potential promotion candidates.
