Fetal Face Analysis from 3D Ultrasound

This research focuses on developing a method for the automatic analysis of 3D ultrasound volumes of fetal faces. By creating an algorithm that segments fetal faces from 3D ultrasound scans and applying a statistical shape model, we can objectively characterise fetal face morphology in the third trimester. This approach has the potential to enhance in-utero diagnosis of genetic conditions associated with craniofacial abnormalities. The project is conducted in collaboration with Great Ormond Street Hospital.
