What attracted you to the MRes in Biomedical Research (Epidemiology, Evolution and Control of Infectious Diseases)?
The course was a complementary part of my PhD programme (1 + 3 PhD).
What specific aspects of the teaching or course format did you enjoy the most?
I really enjoyed the opportunity to spend a lot of time conducting real research and working with amazing researchers at Imperial College London.
How do you think the course will impact your future career?
The course was very useful in helping me hit the ground running in my PhD, which I started right after the MRes. I developed a great deal of analytical and programming skills during the course.
Why did you choose Imperial College London?
I chose Imperial firstly because it is based in London, an amazing city to live and study in, second, Imperial is a world leader in the field of Infectious Disease Epidemiology and third, it had an excellent PhD programme which suited my career interests.
What did you most appreciate about your time at Imperial?
I will have to say the people. I had an amazing cohort who have now become friends, also had excellent MRes project supervisors and a very supportive department and programme coordinators.
What are you doing now? And how has the course helped with your career?
I am now in the final year of my PhD which I started right after my MRes. The course really helped me to develop skills which have been extremely useful in my PhD.
