Zoe Harris is a NERC Industrial Innovation Independent Research Fellow at CEP. Zoe is researching vertical farming, and what this technology means for the use of land for food, water and energy. Her research background in the impacts of land use change to bioenergy on whole system carbon balance and greenhouse gas emissions. Zoe also spent a brief stint at in the civil service, working in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and Department for Transport (DfT).
 
Zoe is a professionally trained actor, and in her spare time runs her own theatre company, Nexus. Nexus aims to work at the interface between science and the arts to communicate complex scientific issues. In 2018, Zoe was awarded a societal engagement seed fund aware to support workshops in schools and a public performance of an interactive theatre piece called POWER, which played  at the Ministry Of Comedy on 7th October 2018.
