Cyrus Pallonji Mistry has been named as successor to Ratan Tata

Cyrus Pallonji Mistry has been named as successor to Ratan Tata to head the $83 Billion Tata group of companies.

Cyrus Mistry, a civil engineering graduate from Imperial College London, has been named as the next head of the $83 billion Tata group of companies.

Cyrus has served on the Rajiv Gandhi Centre’s Advisory Board since its formation in 2005. Located within Imperial College Business School, the Centre aims to help Indian and UK companies improve performance in innovation management and faciliate knowledge exchange between India and its global partners.

“Cyrus has been instrumental to the vision and growth of the Centre,” Professor Gerry George, Director of the Centre noted. “We are excited for Cyrus. He is an exemplary steward and this is an exciting opportunity for taking one of India’s greatest institutions forward.” 

Mr Mistry is currently Managing Director of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, one of India’s largest infrastructure companies, which has an annual turnover of over $2.5 Billion. He has been on the board of Tata Sons since 2006.   

“With Tata’s extensive global interests, we look forward to supporting and working with Cyrus in his new role,” said Professor David Begg, Principal of the Business School. “He is a fantastic person and is a joy to work with. Tata is fortunate to have him at the helm.”
