Prof Bill Lee elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Engineering

Professor William Edward Lee FREng CSci FIMMM FCGI, has been elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Director of Centre for Advanced Structural Ceramics and Professor of Ceramic Engineering, Imperial College; Co-Director Centre for Nuclear Engineering, Imperial College; and Deputy Chair, Government Committee on Radioactive Waste Management (CoRWIM)

Professor Bill Lee is an acknowledged leader of research teams making internationally significant developments in ceramics used in severe conditions of irradiation for the nuclear industry and temperature for the refractories industry. Studying the relation between processing, properties and microstructures in a broad range of ceramics, he has authored four books, won numerous prizes for his research and a champion of collaboration between scientific disciplines to find solutions to the world’s major challenges.
