Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has appointed Professor Sir Anthony Newman Taylor to its board as a non-executive director.
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has appointed Professor Sir Anthony Newman Taylor to its board as a non-executive director.
Sir Anthony, who recently stepped down as Principal of the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London, will also chair the Trust’s Quality and Safety committee.
Sir Anthony served as Faculty Principal from 2010 until 2012, following two years as Deputy Principal. During his time as Principal he oversaw preparations for the bid that brought in £112 million of funding for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial College London. A new flagship research facility for the Faculty, the Imperial Centre for Translational and Experimental Medicine, also launched under Sir Anthony’s leadership.

Sir Anthony was previously Head of the National Heart and Lung Institute and held the roles of Medical Director, Director of Research and Deputy Chief Executive at the Royal Brompton Hospital.

The Trust has also appointed Professor Nick Cheshire as its new medical director.
