AkzoNobel offering work experience prize to UK students for their vision of the future

Students in the UK are being given the chance to win a work experience placement with the world’s biggest coatings company, AkzoNobel, who own the Dulux brand.

A writing competition has been launched by the company’s award-winning external magazine (A Magazine) which also includes an iPad as part of the prize package.

To enter students have to write a 750 word insightful piece about how they view their future career prospects in today’s world. Is the 21st century student excited or filled with trepidation?

A Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, David Lichtneker, explained, “We’re looking for entries that are bold, tell a compelling story and allow the personality of the writer to shine through. Every student must have a story to tell and we’re really keen to hear them. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to experience what life is like at a multinational company, so we’re looking forward to receiving some fascinating submissions.”

The winner, to be chosen after the November 23 closing date, will spend a week at one of AkzoNobel’s sites in the UK. The best entry will also be published on A Magazine’s website, which recently won a coveted Digital Communications Award. Details of how to enter can be found on www.akzonobel.com/amagazine

A leading producer of specialty chemicals as well as paint and coatings, AkzoNobel supplies well-known brands such as Dulux, Sikkens and Polycell, while the company’s products have been used on famous landmarks including the London Eye, Wembley Stadium, both of Manchester’s main football grounds and the capital’s new Shard building.
