DEUTSCHE BANK: Start-up Scholarship Program

by

Deutsche Bank

Are scholarships just about money? Agile minds look for much wider support.

At Deutsche Bank, we believe a scholarship should go beyond financial support. It's there to help you follow your interests and start a career. So as well as offering £3,000 annually for up to three years, we'll invite you to networking events, help you develop career skills and give you the chance to spend two weeks overseas working on a community project.

The Program

Over the three years of the Start-up Scholarship Program, you'll receive an introduction to Deutsche Bank, invitations to networking and informational events (both on campus and at the bank) and the benefit of an interview skills workshop. During the first year, you'll also have a mentor who will help to guide you through the career development process and who may arrange for you to shadow different desks and functions within the bank.

The highlight of the program is participation in an international volunteer project, lasting for two weeks, with one of the Deutsche Bank's partner charities or community organizations. As well as giving you the chance to contribute to the wider community, the project is designed to enhance your personal development and offer skills and experience you can use to build your CV. Our aim is to create well-rounded individuals, ready for the world of work.

Who Can Apply?

This isn't a means-tested or academically based scholarship – we'll be looking for an entrepreneurial attitude and/or a track-record in community or charity work. The Start-up Scholarship Program is open to students from all academic backgrounds who are in their first year of a three-year study program or second year of a four-year program. An interest in banking would be helpful, but there is no obligation to take a job with Deutsche Bank once you graduate.

How To Apply

Candidates must submit a CV and essay response.  Details of the essay requirement can be found at https://www.db.com/careers/content/en/startup.html.

The deadline to apply is 25 November 2012.
