Match highlights: BUCS competition 2012-13 Week 9

by

Men's Lacrosse

This week's BUCS battle highlights include Football, Netball, Hockey and Lacrosse action on Conference Cup Day on Wednesday 5 December

The first snowfall of the season meant some games were called off due to frozen pitches however there were still plenty of Imperial and Imperial Medical teams in action.

Harlington and Teddington withstood the weather so all home games went ahead with great results coming from:

  • IC Football Men’s 2nd vs  Chichester 5th : 2-0
  • IC Hockey Men’s 4th vs Portsmouth 5th : 2-0
  • Lacrosse Men’s 1st  vs  Reading 1st : 4-3
  • ICSM Football Men’s 1st vs RUMS 1st : 4-0
  • ICSM Netball 1st vs Brunel 3rd : 55-26

A special mention for IC Women’s Hockey 1st who were playing Portsmouth 1st at Harlington, avenging their earlier season loss of 8-0 by winning the match 1-0 and climbing to 3rd place in the table. Keeps up the good work girls!

In the warmth of Ethos, both IC and ICSM Badminton Men’s 1st teams won their matches comfortably against Kings and Royal Holloway respectively.  Medics Basketball Men won a closely contested match 76-71 versus Bucks New Uni 1st, putting them joint top of the South Eastern 4A with Imperial 2nd.  Squash Men’s 3rd overcame Essex 3rd with ease 3-0, maintaining their position at the top of the table.

There were also stand out results by Women’s Lacrosse, Squash Men’s 2nd and Squash Women’s 1st who all won away from home.  There is one more week to go for the first part of the season, good luck to all the teams and keep an eye on the Sport Imperial Facebook and Twitter, to keep up to date with all the action, hopefully we can finish 2012 off with some great wins!
