Congratulations to three of our colleagues who have been elected Fellows of the IEEE this year: they are Eric Yeatman, Danilo Mandic and Bikash Pal.

Also our congratulations to Kin Leung, who has been elected to the Academia Europaea.

Research News

Chris Toumazou as Principal Investigator, with Tim Constandinou and Amir Eftekhar, have won the large EU "Synergy" grant together with Steve Bloom from Medicine. The project entitled "An Implantable Intelligent Vague Nerve Sense-and-Stimulate Interface for Appetite Regulation" is worth a total £5.2m over 4 years. 

George Constantinides has been awarded an EPSRC "Working Together" grant in partnership with Birmingham University.  The total amount is £295,880 over 3.5 years.

George Constantinides and Eric Kerrigan have won an industrial contract with Siemens worth £174,767 over 3 years to support a fully funded PhD student.

Chris McLeod, Principal Research Fellow in the Circuits and Systems Group, has been successful in his joint bid for £250K (with UCL) to EPSRC for a wafer bonder.
