We are the Champions!
It was the first win since 2008 for Imperial's Chemical Engineers at the annual Frank Morton Sports Day, held this year in Newcastle
Chemical Engineering students took a day off from studying to travel to chilly Newcastle on the 12th February to compete in the annual Frank Morton's Sports day. It was certainly worth braving the cold and the long trip north as Imperial scooped first prize in the competition for the first time since 2008 and a seventh win since the competition began.
Inaugurated in 1985 and named after a prominent professor of Chemical Engineering, Frank Mortons Sports Day sees Chemical Engineering students from all over the country come together to battle it out for the top sporting spot. This year fifteen different events were included in the largest ever programme, with Imperial's Chemical Engineers taking first place in football, basketball, dodgeball and the 5km run.
Huge congratulations to our elite athletes, and everyone who went up to Newcastle to support them.
