UKSC: Essay Competition 2013

Chance to win work experience at London Law firm and experience workings of UK Supreme Court.

The competition is open to anyone studying an undergraduate or post-graduate degree at a UK university and first prize is publication of the winning essay on the UKSC Blog and The Guardian, a week’s work experience at Olswang LLP, the opportunity to shadow Hugh Tomlinson QC and the opportunity to visit The Guardian's offices. In addition, the winner will receive an iPad mini and £250 in cash. 

Short-listed entries will be judged by recently-retired Supreme Court justice Lord Brown of Eaton-under-Heywood. 

To enter, students must submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words in answer to either of the following questions to editors@ukscblog.com:

1.     Judging the constitution: what role should the UKSC play in determining the constitutional law of the UK?

OR

2.     Rogue justice: do we need more or fewer dissenting voices in the UKSC?

The deadline for submissions is Friday 26 April 2013.
