Professor Stephen Smith attended the 3rd Workshop on End-of-Waste (EoW) Criteria for Biodegradable Waste Subject to Biological Treatment (Compost and Digestate) in Seville on 26th February as an invited independent expert by the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (part of the European Commission Joint Research Centre). The objective of the meeting was to finalise proposals for EoW criteria for biodegradable waste treated by composting and anaerobic digestion processes for application to land to harmonise EoW controls across the European Union (for further details follow the link: http://susproc.jrc.ec.europa.eu/activities/waste/index.html).
