Imperial Computing Team Wins Samsung Student Developer Challenge

Three DoC students, Rohan Mahtani, Taehyun Lee and Liam Barden have won first prize in the Grand Final of the Samsung Student Developer Challenge.

On Monday 8 April three 2nd year students from the Department of Computing, Rohan Mahtani, Taehyun Lee and Liam Barden won the first prize of £5000 in the Grand Final of the 2013 Samsung Student Developer Challenge. The event, which was held in the luxurious ambience of the BAFTA building, Piccadilly, London saw 11 teams from 7 different universities compete to impress the judges with a range of innovative Android apps covering a wide range of themes from entertainment to education. The Imperial team's app Panicked! is a fun brain-training game that subjects its human players to an avalanche of varied mini-challenges that relentlessly increase in intensity and difficulty. The App is especially suited to devices that use Samsung S-Pen technology and can be downloaded from the Samsung App Store.
