The second phase in developing Imperial's Education and Student strategy has opened.
Students, staff and alumni are invited to read a discussion paper and shape priorities for the College’s five year plan.
This phase follows an initial consultation in February, which resulted in contributions from across the College and alumni. The discussion paper draws on those contributions and wider higher education policy developments. Organised into four sections, each based on a proposed strategic objective, the paper details a rationale for a range for the next five years.
Members of the Imperial community can access the discussion paper on the Education Office website, where they are also asked to consider five questions and decide on priorities. All responses are anonymous unless participants choose to identify themselves.
Feedback to the questions and priorities, which can be submitted until the 10 May, will inform the education and student strategy to be submitted to the June Management Board.
As well as contributing online, the College is holding two Open Meetings this month on 17 April from 13.00 -14.00 in the Read Lecture Theatre, Sherfield Building and on 25 April from 17.00-18.00 in the Clore Lecture Theatre, Huxley Building.
Pro Rector (Education) Professor Debra Humphris, who is leading on the development of the strategy, thanked everyone who has taken part so far: “I’m very grateful to those who contributed their time and ideas in the initial consultation. There have been a wide range of responses from staff, students and alumni, not only through our online consultation but also at the open meetings and in discussion with student reps and sabbaticals.”
She added: “Hearing from different people from across the College has been incredibly helpful. I’ve been able to draw on these contributions to develop a discussion paper and now want to share this as widely as possible with the community.”
