Joan Alabort-i-Medina a PhD student here in DoC has beaten nine finalists to win a prestigious Qualcomm innovation fellowship.
Congratulations to Joan Alabort Medina a 1st year PhD student here in the Department of Computing who has been awarded a prestigious Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship. Joan, who faced international competition, attended the finals in Cambridge on 17 April.
The Innovation Fellowship is open to students from a variety of top international universities. A large number of Qualcomm research engineers participate in carefully reviewing all the proposals and selecting the QInF Finalists, who are then invited to present their proposals to a panel of executive judges. Each winning student receives a £10,000 Fellowship for the upcoming academic year. For 2013, three Fellowships were awarded.
