The GTA Award celebrates best practice in teaching support by our department's GTAs, in the first and second year undergraduate electronics and computing laboratories. The results of the student votes were as follows:

For the autumn term:

  • 1st Year Electrical Lab: Mark Collins
  • 1st Year Computing Lab: Fangjing Hu
  •  2nd Year Electrical Lab: Shane Fleming
  •  2nd Year Computing Lab: Thirapiroon Thongkamwitoon

For the spring term:

  • 1st Year Electrical Lab: Mark Collins
  • 1st Year Computing Lab: Fangjing Hu
  • 2nd Year Electrical Lab: Theodosis Georgiou
  • 2nd Year Computing Lab: Miguel Sarabia del Castillo

The students gave numerical marks for each GTA’s performance. The top mark was awarded to Shane Fleming, who was presented with the award for “Best EEE/EIE GTA of the Year 2013”, at a ceremony last week.

Shane will now be the Department's nominee for the Faculty of Engineering GTA Awards for 2013, to be held later this term.
