Student reveals how brands can maximise profit and do social good

by Maxine Myers

Businesses could be more profitable and a force for social good if they combined their objectives together rather than focus on just making profit.

This was the conclusion of an award-winning essay written by Mike Follett, a student at the Business School.

Mike, who is an MBA student, was awarded the ADMAP Prize 2013 for his essay titled ‘Thinking in 3D’.

ADMAP is a monthly magazine written by expert practitioners around the globe on advertising and communications innovations.

Entrants to the ADMAP prize were asked to write an essay addressing the question ‘Can brands maximise profits and be a force for social good?’

The Gold award and a $5,000 cheque will be presented to Mike at a special ADMAP Prize celebration event at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on June 19th.

Maxine Myers caught up with Mike after his win to find out more about his essay.
