The Schmidt Macarthur Fellowship Summer School
The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department in collaboration with Mechanical Engineering at Imperial hosted the Schmidt Macarthur Fellowship Summer School during the week of 17th June 2013. This one week intensive training course on the circular economy involved MSc students and academic mentors from a range of leading universities worldwide including Berkeley, Yale, Stanford, TU Delft, Politecnico de Milano, Cranfield, Imperial and the National Institute of Design India.
As part of the week long activities the Head of Department met with Dame Ellen Macarthur to discuss how civil and environmental engineering can contribute to the circular economy. There are clearly significant opportunities for collaboration in this area and the Department is keen to form further links with the Ellen Macarthur Foundation and the associated CE100 companies.
