A look inside the Centre for Blast Studies at Imperial College
CBIS audio interview exploring current research and the multi-disciplinary methods being used to widen our understanding of blast injury
Elements reporter Rachael Stubbins visited The Centre for Blast Injury Studies to discover more about the ongoing research being carried out by CBIS and the different methods being used to understand types of blast injury.
Vast improvements in battlefield trauma care and timely surgical intervention have resulted in soldiers surviving injuries which previously had proved fatal
'Previously, servicemen and women who were wounded from blasts would have died from their injuries, and now military protection, medical science and practice has improved greatly so that there is a greater prospect of survival.
