Resource to help you improve your networking skills.
Check out our new networking quick guide to help you network with employers at our events this academic year.
– Imperial College Careers Service
Take a look at our new networking quick guide to help you when you meet employers at 2013/14 careers events.
Each year the Careers Service puts on a range of events for you to meet potential employers including careers fairs, forums, employer led skills workshops and presentations. We have developed a new resource especially for you to help you develop your networking skills and make the most out of your interactions with employers on campus.
This new guide will also help you beyond Imperial. Most jobs in the UK are not advertised so networking is an essential skill in helping you secure employment both immediately after graduation and throughout your lifelong professional career.
The guide contains a mixture of written and video content. The videos include employers giving tips for networking and this involved some of our key partner organisations including Cisco, ThoughtWorks, Citi and Morgan Stanley.
The sections of the networking guide include:
- How to expand your network
- The preparation you should do before networking
- How to approach employers at careers fairs
- Do’s and don’ts of networking
We hope you enjoy it and make use of the tips during the careers events this academic year!
