Ir Raymond Chan Kin Sek – President of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, who together with a delegation from the Hong Kong HQ and the UK Chapter, visited the Department on 10 October 2013. The Delegation hosted by Professor Buenfeld were given a tour of the Department and was followed by a presentation by Mr Chan to Imperial. The lecture open to all, on ‘slope stability and underground development in Hong Kong’, was well attended and hence this delighted Mr Chan given that he is an Alumni of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and was previously supervised by Emeritus Professor David Hight.
