The Fulbright Awards Programme for 2014-15 offers UK students a variety of grants and places on special programmes to the USA.

Interested in studying in the US? The US-UK Fulbright Commission offers prestigious scholarship awards (in any field at any US university) for postgraduate study and research in the US, as well as an advisory service for interested students. Join Fulbright advisors for a Lunchtime Careers Talk on ‘Postgraduate Study in the USA’ on 21 January, 13.00 – 13.50 in G34, Sir Alexander Fleming Building. This session will give an overview of the US application process, including information on how to choose a degree programme, complete your applications and funding options including the Fulbright awards.

Study of the US Institutes for scholars and secondary educators
Deadline 18 December 2013
The 2014 Summer Programmes for university faculty and scholars as well as secondary educators offer UK citizens the opportunity to acquire a deeper understanding of US society, education, and culture. The final goal is to strengthen curricula and to improve the quality of teaching about the United States in academic institutions abroad. 

Schuman Fellowships
Deadline: 1 February 2014
Managed by the Commission for Educational Exchange between the United States, Belgium and Luxembourg, the programme offers grants to EU citizens to study or research on European Union affairs, European integration or EU-US relations for periods of three to ten months at a US institution. 

US Summer Institutes for UK undergraduates
Deadline: 3 February 2014
These five week programmes are based on a US university campus and will explore issues in the current themes through academic and practical means as well as give participants an opportunity to be immersed in American culture through events and local activities. Candidates can apply for any of the following subjects: Social Entrepreneurship and Environmental Stewardship.  

American Studies Grants
Deadline: 21 February 2014
UK PhD students or early career scholars in the field of American Studies can now apply for a Fulbright grant to carry out research at any accredited higher education or cultural institution in the US for a period of 1-3 months.

Hubert Humphrey Award in Public Policy
Deadline: 21 February 2014
One award will be offered to a qualified British student to pursue research with a global policy focus, within any of the degree programmes (excluding all joint degrees) at the Hubert H Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, including the MPA, MPP and MDP programmes.

Saltire Scholar Awards
Deadline: 17 March 2014
Candidates can now apply for the second edition of the Fulbright-Saltire Scholar Awards – an exceptional opportunity designated for mid-career entrepreneurs and businesspeople in the UK who are interested in a future in Scotland. This award provides funding to study at Boston’s Babson College for 13 weeks.

BFHBS MBA Awards
Deadline: 11 April 2014
up to 5 awards will be offered in conjunction with the British Friends of Harvard Business School to UK citizens for the first year of an MBA at Harvard Business School. Applicants must gain acceptance from Harvard in admission round 1 or 2 before making an application to the Fulbright Commission.
