Congratulations Professor Michele Dougherty - named in top 100 Scientists
Congratulations Michele
Congratulations to Professor Michele Dougherty who made the list of the UK's top 100 scientists, published by the Science Council today.
Professor Dougherty, Fellow of the Royal Society, is recognised for her leadership in space science as team leader on the magnetometer instrument aboard the NASA-ESA Cassini Mission to the Saturn System and for her contribution to encourage young women into science.
The President of the Royal Astronomical Society, Prof. David Southwood, paid tribute to the five nominees in this field. “To see five astronomers on the list of the UK’s best scientists is a testament to the strength of astronomy and space science in this country. Their diverse contributions in such different areas show how the skills developed in ‘blue skies’ research deliver a huge benefit to wider society.”
