Faculty of Medicine gives insight into its exceptional translational research
A snapshot of our world-class translational medical research captured through 13 videos.
The Faculty of Medicine has produced 13 videos that give an insight into the exceptional research that takes place across its departments, centres, units and research groups. The films feature cutting-edge translational work in areas such as brain sciences to surgery and surgical technology.
Professor Jonathan Weber, Vice-Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Medicine, introduces research across the faculty, touching on the cross-faculty collaboration that takes place within the College.
A major aim of research activity is the translation of basic science into clinical benefits for patients. This is being achieved through Imperial’s Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) – recently receiving designation from the Department of Health.
Videos have been produced to cover each of the Faculty’s 11 research themes, with both academics and research students discussing their work tackling the major medical and healthcare issues facing society today:
- Brain Sciences
- Cancer
- Cardiovascular
- Chronic Disease Epidemiology
- Clinical Trials & Evaluation
- Computational & Systems Medicine
- Diabetes, Metabolism & Endocrinology
- Infectious Disease Epidemiology
- Infection, Immunology & Inflammation
- Respiratory
- Surgery & Surgical Technology
