Imperial is set to showcase the artistic talents of its community this week, with the launch of ArtsFest 2014.
The festival, held annually at Imperial, aims to highlight the diverse range of creative activities on offer to staff and students through a celebration of the arts, music and dance.
As part of the festival, held from 19 - 27 February, Imperial student societies will be joining forces with researchers for the latest Imperial Fringe – a free public event which will feature exciting hands-on collaborations involving dancing, medicine, music and physics.
Throughout the week the South Kensington Campus will play host to free events and demonstrations including music concerts, dance performances and an art exhibition in the Blythe Gallery.
Luke Salter (Materials), Chair of ArtsFest 2014, said:
“Imperial is well known for its world-class scientific research, but it’s easy to forget that there is also a lot of artistic talent at the College. ArtsFest is a way of celebrating and showcasing this creativity to the whole Imperial community.
"The festival is also a fantastic opportunity for staff and students to find out about the range of arts activities that they can get involved in at the College, and we hope that it will encourage people to try their hand at something new.”
