Chemical Engineering Announce Sir William Wakeham Fellowship

The Department of Chemical Engineering invites applications from Research Staff for the first annual Sir William Wakeham Fellowship

The Department of Chemical Engineering invites applications from post-doctoral research staff for the first annual Sir William Wakeham Fellowship. The Fellowship is accompanied by a prize of £2000 and intends to recognise researchers who have made a significant contribution to their research field and have advanced their professional development.

To apply, Chemical Engineering post-doctoral research staff can send a copy of their most significant journal article describing research conducted during their employment at the Department. The paper should be accompanied by a supporting statement (up to 1 A4 page) that comments on the applicant’s role in, and impact of, the research described in the paper. Additionally, the statement can discuss elements of career progression, such as (but not limited to) involvement in teaching or other professional activities, conference participation, and outreach. A list of the applicant’s publications can be appended to the supporting statement.

The panel reserves the right to consult with the applicants’ supervisors during deliberations.

Sir William Wakeham is a visiting professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London.  He first joined the Department as a lecturer in 1971, and was Head of the Department from 1988 until 1996, when he became Deputy Rector of the College.
