The Royal Society of Chemistry are offering 180 teacher training scholarships for 2014/2015, each worth £25,000 (tax free).

The Royal Society of Chemistry are looking for individuals passionate about chemistry, with the potential to be exceptional chemistry teachers, to become RSC Scholars.

THE RSC SCHOLARSHIP 

Each scholar will receive a £25,000 (tax free) bursary to train as a teacher in England in 2014-15 academic year. 

In addition, RSC Scholars will receive support during their training year and beyond from the RSC which includes:

• Membership package for 2 years, and discounted for further 2 years
• Selection of RSC materials including resources, lab coat and other consumables
• National and regional support networks including:               

The RSC Teacher Training Scholarship scheme is run in partnership with the Department for Education. The next deadline for applications is 27 July 2014 - though there are different deadlines between December and June each year.

Not a student of Chemistry?

It's worth noting that other scholarships maybe available to support you if you're looking to become a teacher. For example, with an Engineering degree, you could be eligible for scholarships for training to teach a wide range of subjects, such as Maths, Physics or Chemistry.
