The event will focus on how collaboration among diverse partners is delivering on the promises made in 2012

The Bill & Melinda Gates foundation are once again bringing the global NTD community together to discuss progress and challenges in the effort to control and eliminate 10 NTDs by 2020. This global policy dialogue, Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases: A Conversation on Progress, will take place on 2 April at the Institut Pasteur in Paris.

The event will focus on how the unique alliance of pharmaceutical companies, development agencies, endemic countries, research organizations and private foundations has driven progress forward since the launch of the London Declaration on Neglected Tropical Diseases in 2012, inspiring further commitments and addressing emerging challenges.  The event will include a moderated panel discussion and Q&A session featuring, among others:

Dr Margaret Chan, Director-General, World Health Organization

Dr Tim Evans, Director for Health, Nutrition and Population, World Bank

Bill Gates, Co-Chair, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Christopher Viehbacher, CEO, Sanofi

Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases stakeholders, like SCI, have been invited to Paris to attend.  Aware that many people will not be able to be at the event, SCI is among an international group of partners collaborating to bring the conference and the conversation it will spark to as many people as possible.  The webcast and live Q&A will be broadcast from 17.00-18.30 GMT / 18.00-19.30 CET. To watch and take part just CLICK here. Alternatively it will be available on the Uniting to Combat NTDs website.
