Cristobal Lowery (a former DoC MSc student) and Scott Taylor (a current PhD student) have been featured in London's daily business newspaper City A.M.

GigaFare was founded by Cristobal  and Scott in November 2013 and produces millions of data price points which are used by airline companies to provide a platform to help them price their fares.

Cristobal studied for his undergraduate degree here at Imperial College, and based on his positive experience and the reputation of its degrees chose to return to Imperial to study for his MSc.

Whilst studying for his MSc degree here in the Department of Computing Cristobal gained a greater understanding of Machine Learning and saw its potential in its application for Airline pricing. It was during his time here that he met Scott Taylor, a PhD student who offered the technical expertise to support him in his venture. Today, whilst both have technical backgrounds, Cristobal has stepped into the commercial role and Scott works behind the scenes on the technology.

After graduating Cristobal worked at BNP Paribas and saved half his salary to get GigaFare off the ground. He is now working hard to attract investors and is currently seeking £150,000 of investment funds.

Rather than charging airlines per data point, GigaFare charges per route which puts it ahead of its competitors. Cristobal is already looking to add consultancy to his list of services and we wish him and Scott all the very best of luck in their entrepreneurial pursuits.
