Laing O'Rourke Annual Doctoral Conference 2014
The Centre's PhD Students each had a chance to present to their sponsor (Laing O'Rourke) and fellow peers from Cambridge and Oxford Universites on Tuesday 11 March 2014 at the Laing O'Rourke Annual Doctoral Conference 2014. The Doctoral Conference is a useful opportunity for our PhD students to discuss progress, share their experiences and form new ideas.
Marianna Micallef, Jean Paul Vella, and Sarah Noye were each given the opportunity to discuss their research topic and progress.
Marianna Micallef presented her research topic 'Cracking in base restrained and combined base and end restrained reinforced concrete walls'
Jean Paul Vella, our new PhD student, presented his research topic 'Development of novel connection methods between precast concrete panels'
Sarah Noye presented her research topic 'Data acquisition for improved building system commissiong'
Each student has four supervisors - two from Laing O'Rourke and two academic staff who are based at Imperial College London.
