Frocks, ferris wheels and fireworks: Imperial students celebrate at Summer Ball

Imperial celebrated the end of term in style on Saturday, as students and staff dressed to the nines and flocked to the Union's annual Summer Ball.

Imperial’s South Kensington Campus took on a magical and curious theme for this year’s sell-out event, which drew inspiration from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Over 1,500 guests were greeted with traditional funfair attractions and a full programme of musical acts including Duke Dumont, BBC Radio 1 DJ, Huw Stephens, Jeff Automatic, and Imperial’s own Big Band.

The evening drew to a close with a bang, as guests were treated to a vibrant fireworks display against the backdrop of the Queen’s Tower.

The stamina of remaining guests was put to the test at Imperial College Union’s afterparty, where DJs played until 06.00 and the annual ‘Survivor’s Photo’ captured the last of the action shortly before dawn.

See some of the event's highlights below.
