The Central Library transformation has begun

by Janet Corcoran

The Central Library level 4 silent study and journals area is now closed for redevelopment.

The floor will be transformed to provide a completely new facility for postgraduates.

To enable this to go ahead the area is being cleared and the journals put into storage - alternative silent study space is available on level 5 and study carrels can be found on level 2. To obtain articles from print journals please contact our Document Delivery Service.

Newspapers are now on display in the 24 hour loan room on level 1 near the Information Hub.

Meanwhile, level 3 is being refurbished and by the end of August will open as a study area with some books and journals.

There will be noise in the library throughout the summer while these works take place.
