Dr John Gibbons (Department of Mathematics) has been awarded the President's Medal for Excellence in Pastoral Care
Congratulations to Dr John Gibbons on receiving the President’s Medal for Excellence in Pastoral Care and many thanks to him for all the care he has shown to our postgraduate students.
The President's Awards for Excellence are awarded annually to recognise staff members who have made outstanding contributions in teaching, pastoral care, research supervision and supporting the student experience.
The Award for Pastoral Care is given for exceptional contributions towards a supportive learning environment. Staff in any role across the College, not just those with defined pastoral roles, may be considered. Exemplary behaviour and actions could include:
- Implementing innovative approaches and good practice
- Being considered a role model by peers
- Maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct
- Establishing robust procedures to help ensure swift and effective support
